So I was asking around looking for a run through Vloxen Excavations HM, thinking in some rare instance there might possibly be one. This sin messages me saying he can run it and me, thinking this is too good to be true, offers him 10k for the run.

So the sin runs me alright, runs me from Vlox's Falls to Umbral Grotto through Vloxen Excavations on HM, a mere 5 min run (yeah, right, this guy is dreaming I'm going to pay him 10k for that), then when I tell him hes confused and has done the wrong run, he reports me for scamming him 10k. I even tried to tell him numerous times I was talking about a full dungeon run and yet he was hell bent on reporting me for not forking over an easy 10k.

So, if my account gets suspended for this, can I object the reporting?

Don't think they'll care about that if he even did report you. Most people who say they'll report for scamming know that nothing will happen and they hope you'll be so scared you'll give in.

Wow, people never cease to astound me with their stupidity. I highly doubt your account will get suspended for this, and if it does, you shouldn't have any problem getting it fixed, just email Anet.

Bro, running has never been supported by ANet. You can scam runs all day, they won't do a thing.

Well its not like you took 10k from the guy, its his fault for not understanding dungeon runs, which are a very common part of the game.

1st, Anet will look at the chat logs and realized hes an idiot 2nd, i have reported people for scamming me i emailed anet and they said its a verbal agreement and they have to keep their end of the bargain ( i was running a mission) and they couldnt do anything about it....so ur fine

Running isn't part of the game. You can't be banned for it, even temporarily. The runner runs a risk when they offer you that.

i have to say its not the banning of the game that bothers me, it's when your in a PVP area such as AB and you suddenly have something you need to rush off for, such as a delivery or your children waking up after having a nightmare and you get reported for leeching. Its very unfair. You dont want to leave cause you know you arn't going to be long, there needs to be a new system to reporting.

Yeah, only way ur getting even a 3day ban is uf about 10 people reort you, which is annoying in some cases >< since u can't get a scammer banned.(not OP :P)

u say that but a guy in my alliance reported a guy for scamming him outta 20k and showed screens of what happened. later that night/early morning he logged on to find that anet banned him. lol.

they fixed it the next day and banned the scammer

You going AFK in the middle of an AB match isnt FAIR to the other 11 people playing. If you have to take care of something..log out and go do it.
IMO going AFK or getting tagged a leacher should be a 24 hour Auto Temp Ban.

How about this for a wrongfull report...

I was in AB with a PUG, one guy was standing at the spawn point forever after the game began and someone reported him as leeching, so he reported everyone in his party claiming he had been chatting with his guild.

Will anything come of his false reports about his teammates, all of who were playing not leeching?

anet doesn't ban scammers, they're too lazy

i got scammed for a tormy weapon
anet says you can't get it back and they don't tell me anything comforting of him getting banned
and the scammer said: good, a two week break for me
but he'll still have the tormy

I was in the WC at the begining of an Aspenwood match after waiting 12 minutes. I came back and someone was spamming my name and then I got reported for leeching. Fortunately, I sat down at the computer at that instant, so I reported him back (we were roughly 1 minute into the game) and started to play.

He got really bent out of shape and was furious for the rest of the game. As far as I know, nothing happened to either of us, but it takes a lot to get the Dishonorable hex.
